| There are fundamental questions to be answered about the architecture of a Vision Statement; having spoken with numerous executives in the outsourcing/offshoring industry (ITO, BPO, FAO, HRO, SHARED SERVICES, etc.), because of my Executive Recruitment "JOB," I have begun to see and formulate a hypothesis regarding achieving the long term goal through warranted behaviors (Vision Statement) of an organization.
Seems to me that the public, in general, have mis-identified what a Vision Statement encompasses; I found that the general public has assumed that a Vision Statement defines key elements to determine success, but in-fact a Vision Statement defines the organization's purpose, as does the Mission Statement, and the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) used, being it's values for day to day behaviors to achieve the long term success the organization is targeting through the said Mission Statement.
Simply put, the Vision Statement gives direction about how the organization's employees are expected to behave day to day and inspires them to give their best day to day, with each employee performing a well-defined function in their given area of expertise or assignment.
Let's reflect on the behaviors that constitute a productive employee, then meet back here in a few days.
